Catalogues

BSA Innovation Engine ·

0 Vote On Idea The new catalogues are beautiful BUT, they just do not provide what we need. The volunteers and staff find it very difficult to find items they need. The old catalogues were a quick resource. And I find many volunteers come in the store looking for the old style catalogue.

Fiscal Management Report

BSA Innovation Engine ·

Scout Buddies Program

BSA Innovation Engine ·

11 Vote On Idea Many sports programs are beginning to offer leagues for preschool-aged children. While I don't agree that we should offer a full-blown Scouting program to preschoolers, I think we can not afford to ignore this market completely, as families are developing their activity involvement habits very early.

Add email address to Trainings Not Completed report

BSA Innovation Engine ·

2 Vote On Idea I recently had 600 people needing various trainings in my district and training in two weeks. In order to email them their individual list of trainings needed I would have had to look up each of them in ScoutNET and write an email one at a time.

Online Recharter: A few ideas.

BSA Innovation Engine ·

2 Vote On Idea A few suggestions to take better advantage of the on-line recharter opportunity. 1.)Adding the names of who needs to sign the document as the Executive Officer and Unit Leader, respectfully under their signature line would help eliminate the number of recharters returned with the wrong signatures or not signed at all.

Volunteer Access to BSA Data

BSA Innovation Engine ·

1 Vote On Idea Much of the information needed to support our volunteers in developing and maintaining quality programming in our districts and units is information that I understand and appreciate as information that requires a high degree of discretion with respect to privacy and potential for misuse.

Centennial Quality Unit Tracking

BSA Innovation Engine ·

0 Vote On Idea How about adjusting the default of the Centennial Quality Unit Tracking section of MyBSA to 2008? After adjusting each unit, it defaults back to 2007, so I've been adjusting the 2007 quality status of all of my units and need to go back and do it for 2008.

New Parent Orientation Kit

BSA Innovation Engine ·

1 Vote On Idea National produces excellent resources especially the New Pack Organization folder that is very clear and gives new leaders an uderstanding of their role in Scouting. We lose far too many families that sign up at school night because of poor follow up by the units.

Keeping Track of Eagle Scout Parents

BSA Innovation Engine ·

1 Vote On Idea It would be very helpful to be able to keep track of and run lists of parents of boys who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. We are very similar to a university in that we have young men who graduate from our program with a PHD in Scouting.

Centennial Uniform Pants

BSA Innovation Engine ·

0 Vote On Idea I love the new uniform, however the new pants/shorts need a few extra belt loops in the back. The pants are a little awkward and definitely need the extra support, especially for "action wear". Comments (0) Category/Tags : Other (43) Mark as duplicate

Advancement Report Addition

BSA Innovation Engine ·

Create Wood Badge replacement

BSA Innovation Engine ·

-4 Vote On Idea I suspect that the time for Wood Badge has run its course in the BSA. The fraternal format of the program acts more as a social program than productive training. Let's pull the valuable and effective leadership materials that are in the course, and infuse it into a new format.

New Unit Organization with Religious Emblems Group

BSA Innovation Engine ·

1 Vote On Idea A successful way to start new traditional units at religious insitutions is to turn the initial emphasis by focusing on the church's membership and organizing a faith-focused youth group. Name this group after the Scouting religious emblem for that group.
