When Scouting is so much a part of your life, it is hard to list out ALL the things you have done in a day...sometimes you miss a ton and others it looks like you are doing nothing but :) Perfect example is last night.

When Scouting is so much a part of your life, it is hard to list out ALL the things you have done in a day...sometimes you miss a ton and others it looks like you are doing nothing but :) Perfect example is last night.
Spring Break is moving too fast. The son is at a water park/resort for the rest of the week so it is quiet at home and we are trying to get the new bathroom finished this weekend... I am still recovering from the weekend. One of the best parts of the trip was the time in the car. 1200 miles and almost 20 hours and never once was the radio on (and no ipod either). We talked just about the whole ride about Life, Scouting, College, the future...what a gift to have…
I am back at home after a long and incredible weekend, 1200 miles and 20 hours in the car. It was my annual Fantasy Baseball Draft. We've been doing it for 12 years now 90% of the same group is still around.
Not a lot of Scouting done today...which is odd for me, but here is the laundry list: - bought Patrol Patches for the 2 new Patrols - dropped off Advancement Report for some up and coming Eagle Scouts - added some Scout related tasks/mind maps to Springpad - talked to District about Scouting For Food - talked to my Outdoor…
The world has been swirling lately and I've been slacking on my posting duties. I've still got Scout stuff to do but haven't been able to Tweet or Post about it and am WAY behind in reading Twitter and 100 Days Blogs.
Scout Tuesday: After the campout takes on another dimension. We do not have a Troop Meeting but we do expect all equipment to be returned on this day. The PLC also meets to plan out the month. So for today's 100 Days I will recap a typical PLC Meeting: - I hold a 'pre-meeting' to give…
Another short day for Scouting and long on tired. I got to work at 4am and left at 1pm. That means a nap of some sort was in store in the rest of the day. Scouting took a back seat to sleep today.
First off...my podcast with co-host Scoutmaster Shawn is up and available at www.ptcmedia.net please download and take a listen...and then let me know what you think. Feedback is a gift!!! The march continues for another 100 Days of Scouting. This was our March Campout Weekend.
It is the Thursday before the campout....busy busy busy. Tuesday at the Troop Meeting I introduced a new aspect to the Mini-PLC meeting. As with most of my plans, ideas, thoughts; they are just suggestions to the SPL and his PLC.

Today started off great and then took a turn for the worse...so just the laundry list for this post: - finally found my Scoutmaster Binder. It was in our meeting place all along...well meaning parents would find it, put it in a place and email me, I would go there and it would be gone as…
Sunday should be a day of rest...and today it was, from Scouting. Sunday was my son's 18th Birthday. He's been in Scouting since Tiger Scouts. It was something I wanted him to like (as an Eagle Scout) and it turned into something he loved.
Saturday was fantastic! The wife and I went to our son's Winter Percussion State Finals. It was his last one, he is graduating this spring and has been in Winter Pecussion for 4 years. They were incredible, they played their hearts out and scored a 91+.
Another great day! Fridays are the day we gear up for the weekend and every weekend always has something Scouting to do. Day after Troop Meeting is always a blur to follow up on what was done at the meeting... However today I turned my house upside down. I have a Scout Bag...in it I carry applications, handbook, paperwork for Scouts, District stuff, etc and my Scoutmaster Binder.
Scout Tuesday is always a busy day. Starts early with my making sure I have everything I need for the meeting. Advancement Sheets, Scoutmaster Minute, various things I promised Scouts/Scouters the week(s) before. - left early to go to Scout Shop.

Sunday was an incredible days that has been years in the making, my son's Eagle Project. The biggest problem with an Eagle Project is that the Scout is given the chance to lead and not overpowered by the participating adults, especially when your Dad is the Scoutmaster.
Finishing the Trail! The Scouting Day started at 6:30am when the son and I headed out to his Eagle Project. We were met by 2 Scouts and their parents who helped with the Project. My son has been working on this project for some time.
It was a long long day! Scout wise, I just talked with a few volunteers about upcoming events. Held the first Scout Nation Chat last night. Several Scouters showed up (and a Scout or two) and we asked questions, found solutions and had a great time.
Thursday is an odd day. One more step towards the weekend (and a Scout Campout if it's the 3rd weekend of the month) but sometimes it is a busy Scout night. Our District Committee Meetings are the 1st Thursday of the Month, Roundtable 2nd, and Eagle Boards 3rd.
OK Scout Nation...what a Wednesday! It started fine with 2 emails from Scouts...their Eagle Project Workbook. To help them along I have them email me their workbook after we first meet so I can see how they are progressing and offer any assistance they might need.
So a Patrol Leader came up to me last night and told me his patrol wanted to change their name. He then told me what they voted on. My first reaction was "You need a patch for that" as we are more of an traditional patrol name type of Troop with patches from the Scout…
Scout Tuesday! The Scoutingest Day of the week!!!! - scheduled several 'meetings' with Scouts during the Troop Meeting - went to the Troop Meeting where I: - talked to New Parents about me, Scouting and the Troop - got my part for this weekend's Eagle Court of Honor - gave a Scout his Eagle Book, fresh from National...congrats Kyle!
Yet another Scout Tuesday. I will save the list for tomorrow on my 100 Days of Scouting Post...but I wanted to say how great the meeting went tonight. I was busy with the new Parents in the new parent meeting.
Monday is always a terrible day for me....going back to work, waking up early, and prepping for Scout Tuesday. Got to make sure the guys are ready for the meeting and that I have what I need to make my part successful.
Today was a busy Scouting Day for my family. Today was the big push on my son's Eagle Project. It's something he has been working on for a while but finally reached finish point. He had some Scouts come in the morning and started on the base for his restored bell.
Better late then never... Saturday, lazy Saturday - unloaded some wood delivered to the house for Nate's Eagle Project - got a shipment of tents for Philmont! That is all...sometimes you need an off day! YIS Bryan Permalink | Leave a comment »
Not a lot of Scouting today. I did see some Scouts at the Band Community Event where the 2 High Schools preform. Greetings Scout Nation! Our 2nd episode of Scout Nation is doing very well in the downloads. And it is getting some feedback on the forums too, so thank you! Yesterday was my decompress day after TLT...didn't last long as I have the start of a cold/sinus infection :( - talked to the CC about our upcoming District…
Yesterday, the last living American WWI veteran died at age 110. Frank Buckles lied about his age to join the Army in 1917 and went to war as a 16 year old. He volunteered to drive ambulances because he heard that was the fastest way to get in the action.
Good morning all, good thing this is not an audio blog or podcast because I have no voice.... Yesterday I: - awoke at 6:30am and started the day finishing off Day 3 of our Troop Leader Training. A Scout's Own service, a team work challenge, Willow in the Wind and a Trust Fall were among the…

I am switching it up and posting the next morning because I do a lot of work into the night... An almost NON-Scout day, as in no meetings but plenty of work was done! - worked on the TLT Powerpoint for this weekend.
Another day in the Scout Nation. Got tons of work to get done for TLT so I will make this short: - today was the PLC Meeting, but it was different from other PLC Meetings as it was a training experience as well and the start of Troop Leader Training.
You may think that this is a miss number but I posted on Twitter, Days 11 and 12 because I was on the run and away from a computer. If you missed it....Troop left for Ski Trip, met with DE about finding a CO for a new Troop, attended Blue and Gold, and talked about…
Today was a slow day compared to earlier in the week. I started the day at Midnight finishing out the recording of Scout Nation Episode 2. I did OK, my co-host was sick and I rambled a bit. It was good but not my best.
Another busy day of Scouting here: - worked with Council on an Eagle Book for one of my Scouts - Did some TroopMaster work after Elections - Got some information to a parent about a local Cub Pack for her son - exchanged best practices with 2 other Scoutmasters - sent records for a Scout that moved out of town…
Tonight was the Troop Elections. It was a busy busy Scouting Day...a quick roundup but at some point I have a few good posts in me waiting to get out. - started off printing out progress reports for all the 1st year Scouts - designed an Election Sheet for the SPL and recorded over 22 Scouts interested…

Today was Scout Sunday (we've had some wicked weather here these past few weeks) so I uniformed up (thanks HIMYM) and headed to the Church we met at. There I watched several of my Scouts and younger Scouts (and Girl Scouts) participated in the mass at several levels.
