Courts of honor, boards of review and service projects that took months of planning. Scouters wrote about the journey to Eagle from every angle, from the first rank advancement to the speech at the ceremony.

3 Vote On Idea I am in search of any survey resources that have been created for a company to use in throughout their employees to identify lost Eagle Scouts or even alumni at large. If such resources exist it would be great to have a location that they could be accessed from.

Use NESA / Harris Eagle Alumni Directory to Cultivate
1 Vote On Idea We used the NESA Eagle Directory, the accompanying CD ROM, and the council's excel database, to data mine 80 prospects from one district. We invited them to a Dec.1 alumni gathering, and had a lively event with 20 attending.
0 Vote On Idea We have sent personal e-mails to all the Eagles in the NESA list - both those currently living in our area and those who achieved their Eagle through our Council. The e-mail offered them our bi-weekly e-newsletter to reconnect them with Scouting activities.
1 Vote On Idea It would be very helpful to be able to keep track of and run lists of parents of boys who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. We are very similar to a university in that we have young men who graduate from our program with a PHD in Scouting.
As a scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 68, I have seen seventeen young men earn the Boy Scouts of America's highest award, the rank of Eagle Scout. During most of the Eagle courts of honor, the new Eagle Scout will at some point stand up before the audience of friends and family and talk about…
Eagle Honor Co. has introduced a new series of Eagle Scout Honor Rings. The Eagle Honor Ring features a deeply engraved eagle atop a signet style ring. This historic seal type ring has been worn for hundreds of years and carries family crests and other meaningful symbols.
You have probably read Mike Rowe of ‘Dirty Jobs’ Eagle Scout Perspective , but there is more! Mike is now writing customized letters to Eagle Scouts. According to Mike's website, he has written a Eagle Scout Congratulations letter that he will personalize and sign for any Eagle Scout that requests it.
Dirty Jobs host Mike Rowe is an Eagle Scout. Here is an exchange of letters posted to his blog Mike, I'm not sure where I heard that you are an Eagle Scout, which brings me to my question. Could you PLEASE take a moment & post to my 13 year old son Kelby & encourage him to…
1 Vote On Idea We have several requests from parents and Eagle Scouts for a wallet-size paper card showing the rank of Eagle. Most of our Eagle Scouts create a permanent display of all awards, etc. and want a card to be part of it.
Eagle Scout Projects are actually very simple; any Scout can complete a project without a lot of fuss if he avoids the maze. There is a whole lot of opaque, misdirected and downright wrong advice out there. Much of it may come from district or council level Advancement Chairpersons.
Hello fellow Scouters, Happy Sunday to you! The Scouting world is abuzz over Mike Rowe's recent blog entry on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Mike Rowe, host of Discovery Channel's "Dirty Jobs" and an Eagle Scout, doesn't mince any words.
The father of a Scout wrote the host of Discovery Channel's ‘Dirty Jobs' hoping Mike Rowe (An Eagle Scout) would post some words of encouragement to his son who is thinking about quitting scouting and has not yet attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
Besides the National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Academic Scholarship , and the NESA Merit Scholarships , which we have covered over the past two days, there are other scholarships available to Eagle Scouts. Before I get started, know that this list is no where near complete.
Yesterday, we featured information on the National Eagle Scout Association Academic Scholarships , today the focus is on the NESA Merit Scholarships, tomorrow "Other" Eagle Scout Scholarships. The NESA Merit Scholarship is called the Hall/McElwain Merit Scholarship. Each BSA region reviews applications and awards a varying number of these $1,000 scholarships.
It is time for Eagle Scouts to start working on their 2009 National Eagle Scout Association (NESA) Scholarship applications. NESA offers two types of scholarships, Academic and Merit. Today's article is all about the NESA Academic Scholarship, we will be focusing on the Merit Scholarships tomorrow, and "other" Eagle Scout Scholarships in two days.

Scout Search Is Under Way to find and contact every living Eagle Scout and register his achievements, past and present. If you know an Eagle Scout, please alert him about this important project. Read more . . .
I just finished reading Legacy of Honor by Alvin Townley. A parent in the troop let me read his copy. It's a fun book to read with lots of short stories to ponder. Mr. Townley spent many months interviewing Eagle Scouts across the country and compiling their stories into his book.
Tonight I had the honor of attending the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Josh S. from Troop 533. Josh started out with our Troop, 483 and moved to 533 about two years ago. Josh is an amazing young man with all the service work he has done in OA, not to mention being the…
