Expectations

The Scoutmaster Minute ·

I am often asked about how we established the Scout led troop and many questions go start with, "What about the 10 and 11 year olds.. they are not ready to lead". I think that too many Scoutmasters view Scout led as a very fixed leadership model and forget to account for age, experience and…

Weekend update

The Scoutmaster Minute ·

This weekend I participated with our District Training team for Scoutmaster Outdoor skills and ITOLS. We had a great group of students (learners) this weekend, the split was about half and half, Cub Scout leaders to Boy Scout leaders. I am a big fan of Training.

Scouts Leaders should always be prepared

A couple of weeks ago, I was on a camp (well, one-night competition camp) where I was there merely to help out. One of my fellow leaders was running our camp and I was specifically there to help out but not interfere and run it myself – it was his turn to do it!

Review of Eagle Scout Hiking Stick Medallion

Trailstop ·

Since the early '80's, the Northwest Territorial Mint has been known for quality die-struck collectibles. This Eagle Scout Hiking Stick Medallion is no exception. New G2SS – NO PATROL CAMPING!

From the WOSM's website - The Boy Scouts of Libya, around 3,500 in the town of Benghazi, are organized, and able. That kind of puts all our little 'problems' and 'grumbles' into perspective!
