1 Vote On Idea If we're supposed to be turning out the best of the best as Eagle Scouts, can anyone tell me why Scholarship Merit Badge and Public Speaking Merit Badges are not required for Eagle rank? Scholarship goes without saying.
Three Pearland Boy Scouts from BSA Troop 486 were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout in a Court of Honor ceremony conducted onboard the main deck of Battleship TEXAS. To describe one Minnesota teenager as "one in a million" is an understatement – by half. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announces that Anthony Thomas, has been named the 2 millionth Eagle Scout since the first Eagle badge was awarded in 1912.
The rank of Eagle Scout , Boy Scouting's highest honor, is something to be taken seriously. The family, troop, and Eagle Scout will spend a lot of time planning the Eagle Court of Honor. In recent years, a video of the Eagle Scout's years as a Cub and Boy Scout has become a common part of…
Anthony Thomas of Troop 3471 here in Northern Star Council (I believe Burnsville, MN) has been recognized as the 2,000,000th Eagle Scout yesterday. How cool is that? Arthur Eldred of New York was the first Eagle Scout in 1912, so it's been a busy 96 years. Congratulations, Anthony! Scout On

We have all heard of famous Eagle Scouts like Neil Armstrong, Steve Spielberg, and Ross Perot. But today's Boy Scout may have a little trouble identifying with these gentlemen. After all, they are (dare I say it?) old. How about someone younger, someone 20, 30, or 40 years closer to the age of today's Boy…

I received an email from a "Concerned Eagle Scout" Today. Mr. "Concerned Eagle Scout" has concerns about justifying FOS dollars. And I can appreciate "Concerned Eagle Scouts"concerns. His biggest issue seems to be the cost of Scouting. Well.. let me share his email with you.
The Eagle Rank represents proficiency in all Scouting skills, and is attained by only about 2 percent of all young men in Scouting. It represents a great deal of teamwork as a member and leader of a troop. You demonstrated, by living the Scout Oath and Law, in an effort to perpetuate the Scouting Spirit.
Congratulations to Nathan T. on becoming an Eagle Scout last Monday night. Over the years I watch Nathan work hard toward earning 31 Merit Badges and scouting's highest rank. As a scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 68, I have seen seventeen young men earn the Boy Scouts of America's highest award, the rank of Eagle Scout. During most of the Eagle courts of honor, the new Eagle Scout will at some point stand up before the audience of friends and family and talk about…
