Nick's Ramblings UK ·

Just back from our District's St. George's day Parade. It is quite impressive to see so many young people from both the Guiding and Scouting Movements in one place. When we were parading, we couldn't hear the band at the front for most of the time as they were so far away from us!

Riley Rendezvous 2009: Part 1

A Scoutmaster's Blog ·

This year's Central Minnesota Ripley Rendezvous proved to be challenging for me as the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 68. It almost felt like Murphy's Law was trying to prove to me that it still applies even after nearly three decades of being with the troop.

Cinemeetings

BSA Innovation Engine ·

0 Vote On Idea Not only could we use the Cinemeetings format for some of the highlights of the National Jamboree, but with many of the 100 year anniversary events. It would be beneficial for audiences to "participate" in planning meetings, events or as a focus group by using local movie theatres as a venue.

Joining Fee versus Pro rated registration fee

We at Cracker Barrel are landlocked here in Irving, Tex. Because of that, we must admit feeling some envy when we hear about the Sea Scouts. This specialized division of Venturing takes the Scouting experience to the water. How cool is that?

4 Vote On Idea We begin losing boys in Boy Scouts at 14 & 15. In Venturing we don't start attracting youth until age 16. That means there is an underserved population of 14 and 15 year olds. I recommend we study the idea of offering the Venturing program as well as the wearing of the…
